The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Saturday urged President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to declare a national state of calamity for at least one year following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.
In an emergency full council meeting, NDRRMC executive director Raymundo Ferrer told the President that the one-year nationwide state of calamity will be needed as 16 out of 17 regions in the country are assessed as high risk for Paeng. (Via Daily Inquirer).
